Cookie Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, tags, pixels and server-side identifiers) that RankThatMovie may use, and how to control them. We do not set or access non-essential storage before you give consent.
1. How to change your choice
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time — as easily as you gave it — using the “Privacy choices” control below and in the footer of every page. You do not need to clear your browser data.
2. Strictly necessary
These run the site and cannot be switched off. They do not require consent.
| Name / type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consent preference (localStorage) | RankThatMovie | Remember your cookie choice | Until you change it |
| Language preference (cookie) | RankThatMovie | Remember your selected language | Up to 12 months |
| Security / load-balancing (server) | Cloudflare | Deliver and protect the service | Session / short-lived |
3. Measurement (analytics)
Our first-party traffic counter records aggregate page views, public URL paths, referrer domains and estimated unique users. It does not set a cookie or use localStorage. The server converts the connecting IP address and user agent into a keyed one-way pseudonymous signature and does not retain those raw values in the analytics database. A separate random identifier exists only in page memory to estimate the live audience and is discarded from the server's live window within 30 minutes. Daily aggregate totals and pseudonymous signatures are retained for up to 400 days.
Google Analytics is also configured under Google Consent Mode. Analytics storage is denied by default and controlled through the consent interface. Selecting reject does not grant analytics cookie storage. You can change your choice at any time using “Privacy choices”.
4. Advertising
When advertising is live and you consent, Google and its ad-technology partners may set cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. We separate three modes accurately:
- Personalised ads — only with your consent.
- Non-personalised ads — contextual only, no ad-personalisation profile.
- Limited ads — a restricted mode where required.
See Google's partner-sites information and cookie information.
5. The banner and your options
When advertising/consent is live, the banner offers Reject all, Manage options and Accept all with comparable visibility. We record the consent purposes, vendors and timestamp, and refresh consent when purposes or vendors materially change.
6. Questions
Email [email protected] for anything about cookies or consent.
